LODGE Arc Logo No 8 Dutch Oven Basting Lid Raised Number Vintage CLEAN RESTORED

Up for sale is an antique LODGE A RC Logo cast iron No 8 Dutch Oven with Basting Lid with attached bail handle. It was made from about the 1910’s – 1930’s in the U. It was stripped down, cleaned, and re-seasoned so you can begin to use it right away. Please see details below. Color: Pot is a dark brown/light black matte finish from the initial seasonings (4) done after stripping pot down to a gun metal gray. At this stage, it should not look dark black until it has been used over a period of time. Any pan that looks dark black in the listing has not gone through this process. In daylight, the piece may appear dark brown due to different lighting environments. Excellent for most range types including ceramic glass stove tops, induction due to flat bottom, baking and camping. Note: This can be used on a glass stove top, just don’t drag it or drop it on your stove top as you may cause damage to not only the skillet, but your stove top! Please consult your stove owner’s manual if you have concerns. That said, I always allow adequate time for skillet to heat up before using and never use anything more than medium heat for any length of time on my glass stove top without issue. Width from side to side: 10 1/4. Width from handle to opposite handle: 11. Cooking Surface: 8 1/2. Pot Depth: About 3 7/8. Lid Width: 10 1/4. Lid Height: 2 1/2. Pre-Packaged Weight: 8 pounds 15 ounces. This pot has been totally stripped to raw metal using a combination of a lye bath soak and a vinegar/water soak to safely strip the pan down to a gun metal gray. These processes follow industry guidelines for a safe and effective restoration. My specific processes will usually remove all old crud, built up seasoning, rust, and anything else lurking on the skillet. On occasion, there will be old seasoning that can’t be removed without damaging the skillet – however this won’t impede the normal use of this skillet. The pan was then washed down with water, a scouring pad, and blue Dawn mild dish detergent & then dried before entering the seasoning process. This is the most important step in the restoration process and many times takes much longer than seasoning. This is also why my pans look like a deep chocolate brown when finished. My pans are safe, non-stick, and look great from this process! Once pan was thoroughly dried, it was seasoned 4 times with a combination of seasoning oil combined with beeswax following industry guidelines. Before seasoning each time and once the pan was sufficiently warmed up, the oil was wiped on and then off again, thus leaving the thin surface of oil which is all that is required when properly seasoning a skillet. I have a process which gradually heats the skillet with the applied seasoning so that it goes on evenly and stays that way. The final step is the baking on of the seasoning beyond the smoke point for an hour & 10 minutes. It produces a pan that isn’t gummy or wet, but is nice and dry. This pan is all ready to use and will continue to season the longer it is used. I have seasoned a number of pans this way using Crisco/high smoke point seasoning oils like (grape seed oil) after doing the flax seed oil method and find that it works better with the heated skillets for even consistent application, and stays intact after correctly cleaning the pans after each use. Special attention is given to the handle with extra protective padding and situated so that it won’t poke through the box which can happen if not packed properly. Vintage Griswold Small Size 7 Cast Iron Tite-Top Dutch Oven Double Logo Lid

Vintage Griswold Small Size 7 Cast Iron Tite Top Dutch Oven P/N 2604. Here is the highly sought after small size 7 Griswold Dutch Oven. This one is in very nice condition. It has the sought after early low lid with the Slant Logo. The interior is very nice with the usual utensil marks. Overall this is a very nice Griswold 7 Dutch Oven and. Will be a great addition to your collection. Check the pictures and the. Description tag in the pictures. Judge the condition for yourself. I have acquired hundreds of Cast Iron pieces over this last Summer and have been working to clean and season them. You will be able to find that special gift that you want to give that special person or yourself this cooking season. CAST IRON, all the cast iron is cleaned and seasoned unless its stated otherwise. I gauge movement by a business card. Usually less than a card of movement I consider it to be flat. However you may see that I state that it has a tap movement. That just shows that if you push down at that point it will tap the surface. Any movement more than that I will list it as how many cards it takes to level it out. I clean the cast by electrolysis and season it with a beeswax and vegetable oil mixture. Overtime I have tried several different ways of seasoning. I have recently been trying a heavier coating to get a more stick free finish. However some of the older pieces have less of a coating. All of them will get better with use and more seasoning when you cook with them. Most of the pieces will come to you in a dark Cast Iron color, some however will be a brownish color. But all will darken more with use. They will darken up over time and use to become the black color everyone associates with Cast iron Skillets. Some of the Cast Iron pieces are coming out of my collection so they will not be as cured as the others since I use a lot of them for display purposes. If I find any issues with the Cast Iron item I will state it in the narrative. If you have any issues with any item I sell let me know and I will fix it. Due to the large number of items I acquire and sell, I may be wrong with the name or description on any one of them. Use the pictures that I include to determine your own description and condition. Vintage Griswold Small Size 7 Cast Iron Tite Top Dutch Oven P/N 2604. Here is the highly sought after small size 7 Griswold Dutch Oven. This one is in very nice condition. It has the sought after early low lid with the Slant Logo. The interior is very nice with the usual utensil marks. Overall this is a very nice Griswold 7 Dutch Oven and. Will be a great addition to your collection. Check the pictures and the. Description tag in the pictures. Judge the condition for yourself. I have acquired hundreds of Cast Iron pieces over this last Summer and have been working to clean and season them. You will be able to find that special gift that you want to give that special person or yourself this cooking season. CAST IRON, all the cast iron is cleaned and seasoned unless its stated otherwise. I gauge movement by a business card. Usually less than a card of movement I consider it to be flat. However you may see that I state that it has a tap movement. That just shows that if you push down at that point it will tap the surface. Any movement more than that I will list it as how many cards it takes to level it out. I clean the cast by electrolysis and season it with a beeswax and vegetable oil mixture. Overtime I have tried several different ways of seasoning. I have recently been trying a heavier coating to get a more stick free finish. However some of the older pieces have less of a coating. All of them will get better with use and more seasoning when you cook with them. Most of the pieces will come to you in a dark Cast Iron color, some however will be a brownish color. But all will darken more with use. They will darken up over time and use to become the black color everyone associates with Cast iron Skillets. Some of the Cast Iron pieces are coming out of my collection so they will not be as cured as the others since I use a lot of them for display purposes. If I find any issues with the Cast Iron item I will state it in the narrative. If you have any issues with any item I sell let me know and I will fix it.
